Chris Maclin
CEO
As the CEO, Chris oversees all aspects of the business including sales, support, consulting, product management and development. With over 20 years experience, Chris has spent his entire career in the risk and compliance industry. Prior to joining Empyrean, Chris was the Managing Director for Wolters Kluwer’s Risk and Compliance division and he spent 17 years with the BancWare (SunGard/FIS) business serving in many management and client facing roles.
Thomas Rutledge
Principal – Technology & Development
As a co-founder and the head of technology and development, Thomas is responsible for all aspects of the Empyrean solution. Prior to founding Empyrean, Thomas had spent his entire 25-year career using technology to enable better risk and balance sheet management. Thomas is uniquely positioned to deliver high quality risk solutions having founded DollarMark Systems, Inc in 1986 (sold to SunGard in 1998), developed their ALM system, Monaco, that had achieved global penetration, and having served as an ALM technical lead for Regions Financial Corporation through the many bank mergers.
David Magee
Principal – Financial Engineering
As a co-founder and the primary financial engineer for the Empyrean platform, David continues to assist with the solution design. David’s wealth of experience comes from his 35-year career in the banking community. Prior to founding Empyrean, David co-found DollarMark Systems, Inc, (sold to SunGard in 1998), developed its global ALM solution (Monaco) and he has held numerous senior roles as a risk officer, balance sheet manager and/or Chief Investment Officer for various leading southeastern banks, including Regions Financial Corporation and Deposit Guaranty National Bank.
Kevin Studders
Principal – Product & Strategy
Kevin is responsible for the strategic direction of Empyrean through the development of new products, the acquisition of complementary businesses and the formation of mutually beneficial partnerships. Prior to joining Empyrean, Kevin spent his entire 17-year career at SunGard/FIS operating in various management and sales roles focused exclusively on ALM, performance measurement, credit analysis and commercial loan origination.
Al Forrester
Principal – Advisory Services
As a senior advisor, Al brings his wealth of knowledge and experience to Empyrean clients to assist in all elements of risk and balance sheet management. Al was a co-founder of FICast Data Corporation (now part of Empyrean) and served as the CEO and head of advisory at FICast for 18 years. In addition, Al developed the bank consulting and ALM/risk management practice for financial advisory firm, Ponder & Co. Prior to that, as a Vice President in Treasury, Al was instrumental in designing and implementing SunTrust Bank’s ALM process.
